Cloud Pen promises to revolutionize a corner of the wax pen market with their never been seen before all-in-one solution, the Paragon. And while this might not quite be the radical product they claim it to be, for many who are looking for a convenient and modestly priced vaporizer, it will surely hit the spot.
Ever been caught out ready to fire up for a vape session only to realize you’re missing your dabbing tool or, even worse, concentrate? Well, the Paragon will put your mind at ease with, not one, but two integrated add ons that means you’ll never have to worry about leaving home without them. First up is a NoGoo silicone wax cup that will store your material so you’re always prepared when out and about, and with no mess. When it’s time to load the atomizer, the built in dab tool allows for easy transfer into the chamber and removes the problem of losing or forgetting it when you really need it. The third innovation here is an adjustable airflow, not something you’d expect from a vape pen but certainly handy to fine tune draw resistance. Just open it for less vapor or close it down to create a stronger pull, the choice is yours.
Quartz Rod and 510 Threaded Attachment
Instead of opting for a cheaper rod construction that can rob you of your material’s true flavor, the Paragon atomizer comes with dual inert quartz rods. This provides both a clean natural taste and has the power to produce substantial vapor when you need it. The atomizer uses a standard 510 threaded format that means you can mix and match different tanks and attachments for experimentation down the road. Power is provided by a universal 2200mAh battery, one of the largest you’ll find on any portable pen, giving up to around 8 hours of use It takes a little while to charge, though, at around three hours. Most pens usually take about half that time but considering you can get easily a full day use out of it this shouldn't pose too much of a problem. A light will flash white, blue, and green 10 times before device shuts off.
The conduction style chamber produces a decent vapor, maybe not the best we’ve seen but still perfectly acceptable at this price point, especially when you consider all the other features the pen has.
Suitable For Portable Use?
For on-the-go vaping you’ll find it portable enough even though it’s in the medium range of these types of units. In the looks department it’s your standard black vape pen that you’ve seen many times, with Cloud Pen’s logo added to the side. The only hint of real style is the day-glow green interior of the wax cup. With the lack of an eye-catching exterior this bodes well for those who value stealthiness, however.
Operating The Cloud Pen Paragon
The Paragon also works just like any of the other vape pens you’ve operated. Just click power button five times to turn it on (or off if it’s already on.) Then use dab tool to load wax onto the coil while being careful not to touch it with the dabber to avoid damage. You can adjust the temperature by clicking three times to these settings:
- Red = 3.2v
- Green = 3.5v
- Yellow = 3.8v
To draw, let the dab melt briefly and then take a hit while holding down the power button. There’s an auto shut-off if power is held for longer than 20 seconds to avoid burning out the atomizer.
Buying The Cloud Pen Paragon
The Paragon makes a great entry level vape pen for those who want a really convenient all in one package. There is a small trade-off as the vapor is not exceptional like some other vape pens such as the Source Slim, so be sure to check that one out too. All in all, though, the Paragon is a solid choice for a wax vape at an online price of under $99.
