If you’re an avid herbal vaper who likes to maintain a well-functioning setup, then you know the importance of staying on top of your battery. The battery, of course, is the most essential part of all, as it’s what gives your portable device its power. Even the most high-tech, high-capacity batteries don’t last forever, and so they must be replaced from time to time.
But when is the right time to do so? Well, we’ll be answering that question today.
The Battery of Your Vaporizer Device
A portable vaporizer setup is pretty simple, regardless of the type of herbal product that you’re using. All of them consist of a handheld device with a chamber into which you insert your product, as well as a mouthpiece that allows you to inhale the vapor. The herbal product is heated by a coil that’s installed in the chamber, and that coil derives its heat from the power of – you guessed it – the battery.
These days, there are countless portable vaporizers on the market. This means that there are many different types of vape batteries that go into them to power the devices. Batteries can range in terms of voltage, size and capacity. Further, some devices have integrated batteries, as in, batteries that are built into the device. Others have replaceable batteries that are sold separately and removed when they need to be recharged.
What About Those Electronic Devices Then?
If you’ve ever used electronics before, you know that even rechargeable batteries have a longevity. After a while, they simply run out of juice, and need to be replaced altogether. So, let’s talk about the ways to know that it’s time to replace that battery.
If You’re Using Dry Herb
If you’re using a vaping setup that allows for you to vaporize dry herb, then you’re likely using a fairly powerful battery compared to the other types of vaping devices out there for herbal goods. This means that the battery will likely need to be replaced more often, believe it or not, because you’re using more power to work the battery, despite its higher capacity.
A dry herb vaporizer battery will let you know when it’s no longer in its prime, because it will have a hard time holding a charge for very long. A battery that used to last all day before running out of power will now barely get you through a few hours. Also, it will likely struggle to give you the full amounts of vapor that you’re used to.
How often you should change it depends on how frequently you vape. But, generally, once a year is adequate.
If You’re Using a Concentrate (Wax, Oil, etc.)
If you’re using a concentrate, then you’re likely using a more low-powered device to accommodate this type of product. Again, though, the signs of a dying battery are the same. Failing to hold a charge and delivering weaker levels of vapor are both signs that a replacement battery is needed. And, this will likely happen sooner, because these often-smaller devices tend to have weaker, less resilient batteries. Every six months is likely adequate.
Making Your Battery Last Longer
There are definitely ways in which you can accidentally sabotage your battery’s longevity, meaning that you’ll actually have to replace it more frequently. So, let’s talk about the keys to making your battery last as long as possible, no matter what type of device you’re using.
One thing that you should never do is store your batteries improperly. The connections of the batteries should never touch metal, first of all, as this can destroy their charge. Further, you should never let them get dirty.
Lastly, make sure that you use your device according to the user manual in order to avoid pushing the batteries to work harder than need be.
Portable Vaporizer Battery Functionality is Crucial
The vape battery that’s within your herbal vaporizer must be taken care of so that it can last for a long time. But, even if you maintain it properly, it will need to be replaced. Hopefully now you know when that time has come in order to continue enjoying a satisfying herbal vaping experience.
