Most vapers feel that the pungent aroma of their favorite herbal material is nothing short of intoxicating. After taking a puff of dry herb with a vaporizer, it's that scent that lets the vaper know that they've just taken a full, satisfying hit.
But what if the smell isn't quite right?
Why the Smell of Your Dry Herb is Worth Paying Attention To
As it turns out, the smell of your dry herb can clue you into how well your device is functioning as well as the quality of the herb that you're vaping.
If your dry herb smells burnt after it leaves your mouth, it means that it's getting too hot during the vaporization process. This can be caused by a few different things. First, check to make sure that your output settings aren't too high. It's also possible that your coil needs to be replaced.
If you can barely smell that pungent scent as you exhale, you might need to increase your temperature or wattage setting. While that smell isn't going to be as strong as it would be if were you smoking it, you should still clearly notice a strong herbal scent.
If your dry herb smells rancid, it probably means that there's something wrong with the herb itself. While this is rare, sometimes dry herb can be tainted by something during the manufacturing process. If this is the case, stop vaping it immediately.
A chemical smell can indicate that your dry herb is very low in quality. It can also mean that something is wrong with your vaporizer. Carefully take your vaporizer apart to make sure that nothing is burning or melting. If your vaporizer is fine, consider picking up a new batch of dry herb.
How to Manage the Natural Smell of Dry Herb
Even if the smell of weed makes you happy, there are times when we don't want to exhale such a pungent aroma. These tips will help subdue that notoriously distinctive scent.
Tip #1: Exhale Out the Window
One of the best ways to prevent the smell of herb from accumulating in a room is to exhale out of an open window.
Tip #2: Turn Your Temperature or Wattage Setting Down
The higher your output settings, the more vapor. More vapor means more smell. If you're trying to vape discreetly, temporarily lower your settings while you vape.
Tip #3: Blow into a Piece of Fabric
One of the most popular tricks to avoid making a room smell like herb is to exhale into a piece of fabric. The fabric will absorb the vapor instantly. Within about ten minutes, the piece of fabric will no longer smell like herb.
Tip #4: Hold the Vapor for a Longer Period of Time
Simply hold the vapor in your lungs for a longer period of time. This will reduce the amount of vapor that comes out when you exhale. Unlike smoke, vapor can be safely held in the lungs for several seconds.
That Smell Really Does Matter
By paying close attention to the smell of your dry herb during your vaping sessions, you'll be able to make sure that your experience is as high in quality as possible.
